This weekend I rediscovered an audio book I bought a while back:   The Obstacle is the Way by Ryan Holiday.  It reminded me of how excited I was when I discovered stoicism.

Over time I’ll say lot more about Stoicism and what it means to me , but for today I’ll make only a few comments.

    1. The concept of taking responsibility for your own actions and letting go of things you don’t have control of is key to a happy life
    2. Life is not fair, bemoaning that will not make it so.  Focusing on all the ways other people have an advantage is not worth your time.  Make your own way.
    3. Most obstacles can be viewed as opportunities.  Those that can’t are not worth paying attention to.  They’re nothing but distraction.
    4. Everyone has a story of adversity.  Be compassionate.
